How to BOOST your own stem cell production

I'm often asked, "What can I do nutritionally to increase my chances of success with my stem cell procedure?"  This has lead me down some interesting paths of research over the years and one technique continues to outshine the others, by a long shot.  And honestly, I've only had 2 patients take me up on it.  It is FASTING, in fact a 5 day water fast, ouch... I know you didn't want to hear it, nobody does.  Just the thought makes people cringe.  Knowing instantly that they can't conceive of that kind of self torture, and instantly decide - nope, not going to happen.

Here's the good part.  It's really not that hard, once you get passed  the first 48 hours the rest is a breeze, kinda.  It's still hard but the rewards are indisputable given all the research that surrounds this age old therapy.  Utilized over the ages by all the great physicians.  In fact, On October 3, 2016, the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was awarded to Yoshinori Ohsumi for “discoveries of the mechanisms for autophagy.”  The reason it works says Omer Yilmaz, an MIT professor of biology, a member of the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research, is that fasting invokes all the restorative components of the body while eating up and destroying dead cells, dying cells and genetically damaged cells in a process called autophagy. Google it, or click the links above.

Even better.  There are much less dramatic ways to induce the same autophagy without the extreme 5 day water fast.  It's called intermittent fasting.  This is when you go several hours between meals, and the farther apart the meals the better.  An example, eating your last meal at 7pm and then skipping breakfast (no it's not the most important meal of the day) and waiting until early afternoon before your next meal, say at 2pm.  This creates a 5 hour eating window for you to get in the calories you need while invoking the autophagy principle in the prior 19 hours of fasting.  Sure, the autophagy works better the longer you go without food, but for those who just can't imagine going a whole day without something, or perhaps for other medical reasons such as not taking your meds on an empty stomach.  Then this method may be just what the doctor ordered.
